The viewing angles are an interesting aspect considering it is a DTR notebook. Horizontally, they are quite good, but there are limitations due to reflections. Performance is maybe the most interesting aspect of a gaming notebook. At the time of writing the Toshiba Satego X200 comes with a T7300 Core 2 Duo CPU and a total of 2GB main memory, 2 hard disk with a total capacity of 240GB (120+120GB), and finally a NVIDIA Geforce 8700M GT video card. Asus X53BY replacement battery

Of course the most interesting aspect of this configuration is the ultra-modern video card. Interestingly, this is only true for the classical 3DMark benchmark. In practice the impression is different. E.g., at the Doom 3 time demo benchmark test at ultra details it reaches only abouta level of a Geforce 7600 and is clearly outperformed by the Geforce 9700GS. However, performance comparisons can get interesting again with soon to come DirectX 10 games. Hopefully, the new 8000 series will perform better there. Despite of the good performance the emissions, and here, first of all the noise of the notebook are very limited. In idle mode the Satego X200 is very quiet the noise stays at a comfortable level of 35.4 dB. ASUS P53E replacement battery

Alike the loudness also the surface temperatures of the notebook stay alright. Neither at the top side nor at the bottom side striking temperatures were measured even after longer gaming sessions. First of all the design of the Alienware Area-51 m9750 strikes. Everything is big, thick, and stable. The Alienware does hardly follow the trend to glossy surfaces, only the also glossy display is framed in such a way. Instead black soft-touch surfaces are used, which do not only look good, also their haptics is alright and they contribute to the impression of robustness. The workmanship seems completely first-class, the case even achieves the quality of Lenovo cases. It yields nowhere and does not creak at all. Unfortunately, the display's stability is not so good: Flexural rigidity and pressure resistance are only average. However, the hinges seem to be built to last forever.

The keyboard also profits from the excellent workmanship of the total case: It is perfectly fit in the case, typing is characterized by a well-defined point of pressure and short travel, so reminding of the very best keyboards of Lenovo and Apple. Also the layout is alright, the keys are sufficiently big. Also a numerical pad is provided. Unfortunately, the keyboard is a little too close to the display, similar to Apple MacBook Pro's keyboard. The touch pad of the Area-51 m9750 gaming notebook is fit without gaps in the case, which does not only look good, but also eases cleaning. Size and surface of the touch pad are alright.
